Amcor Recycling Queensland and NT

We are firmly focused on the taking care precious, finite resources. Paper and cardboard have traditionally been our focus but we are now able to help customers recycle a long list of materials from their workplace.

We even offer a full waste management service and a 24 hour response time during work hours.

Our staff are innovative in their thinking and expert in their advice. They start by getting to know your business and your needs, and then they draw on their considerable experience to recommend a customised recycling solution that makes both economic and environmental sense.

Whether it is glass, cardboard, plastics or office paper that you are seeking to recycle, Amcor Recycling Queensland offers a comprehensive range of options to meet your business requirements. More

Recycle@Work

Amcor Queensland believes that as a community, we all have a great deal to gain by effective, responsible and sustainable environmental management practices. We are so passionate about what we do that we have created our own Recycle@Work program to make it easier for businesses to improve their recycling. Recycle@Work will collect and recycle the same types of materials that you can currently recycle at home including cans, newspapers and cardboard, tins, glass bottles, and plastic containers.

Our Petrie Mill, located to the north of Brisbanes central business district on Gympie Road, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 363 days a year. It processes more than 150,000 tonnes of wastepaper per annum and produces more than 130,000 tonnes of finished product including cereal, biscuit and washing powder packaging. This enormous recycling workload is managed thanks to the only cartonboard paper machine in Australia.

Recycle @ Work Queensland

Recycle @ Work Queensland is a joint initiative of Amcor Queensland, your Local council, and the National Packaging Covenant. It is designed to help make sure that Queenslanders are able to recycle at work as easily as they do at home.

Recycle @ Work offers a convenient recycling collection service for small to medium businesses in Queensland. We visit your workplace once a week to collect all of the recyclable material that you would usually throw into the bin.

You benefit…

Your business or workplace will benefit from improved recycling because recycling:

  • Saves money on waste collection & disposal costs
  • Improves your environmental performance
  • Boosts the feel-good factor for staff and customers

Recycling also boosts our economy, reduces taxes, preserves natural resources, reduces demand (and therefore costs) for utilities such as water and energy, prevents the need to turn more valuable land into landfill!

What to recycle

Recycle @ Work enables you to recycle all the same types of materials that you currently recycle at home: aluminium cans, newspapers and cardboard, steel tins, glass bottles, and plastic milk containers. Simple.

Why is each state different?

Recycling relies heavily on economics which relies on geographic issues such as where the recyclable material is, how much of it there is and how much transport will cost. This factors vary state to state, which is why there is some local variation between the services we are able to offer in each state.

Memory Lane

As well as being the first Australian company in the recycling business, Amcor was also the first Australian company to offer a kerbside recycling service.

PET Performs

Amcor was the first company in the world to operate its own PET (or polyethylene) recycling facility. PET is the plastic used for soft drink bottles, is 100% recyclable and is now the worlds’ most widely recycled plastic.

Good on us

Australia recycles around 75% of all its newspaper – making us world leaders. Most of this goes to producing cardboard which itself can be recycled!
