Amcor Glass

Overview

Located near the Barossa Valley north of Adelaide, the Amcor Glass Packaging plant commenced production in May 2002.

The plant incorporates two of the largest dedicated Glass manufacturing furnaces in the world.

Servicing the wine industry of Australia and New Zealand, Amcor Glass is currently producing approximately 1.01 million wine bottles a day, which is consistent with the plant's annual production capacity in excess of 400 million bottles.

Protecting Premium Wines

To serve the premium wine segment of the industry, Amcor produces a select range of bottle shapes and colours.

Amcor supplies bottles to more than 15 wine companies including major wine producing groups as well as independent bottling contractors who provide wine bottling services to smaller wine producers.

Glass Recycling

More than 40% of the raw material used to manufacture Amcor's wine bottles is recycled glass.
