LifeSpan® packaging is a tool that can extend the life of fresh produce if used correctly. If LifeSpan is used incorrectly, the results may be disappointing. Quality deterioration of fresh produce can be accelerated particularly if temperatures are not controlled diligently. Please refer to our Correct Use Summary, Terms of Use and Product Disclaimer.
LifeSpan® product usage instructions are available and accompany all products. Please click on the links opposite for instructions.
Note that the packaging instructions for liners are presented here by way of example only. Since each LifeSpan® product is uniquely designed for a specific weight and type of produce, each product has slightly different instruction sheets. Please follow the instructions accompanying the goods.
Many LifeSpan pallet shrouds are designed to release excess condensation that can form inside the shroud. When condensation build up is a problem, sealing by the manual method using wide adhesive tape is essential. Use of stretch wrap film will block the moisture release. In all other cases, either machine applied stretch wrap or manually applied wide adhesive tape may be used.
Amcor recommends BC900 filament tape, due to its superior strength and adhesion. Amcor can supply the BC900 tape at 144mm (5½") width along with supply of LifeSpan pallet shrouds.
Many users recover the cost of LifeSpan bags as a result of the reduction in produce weight loss during the distribution process. Then they gain the other benefits from LifeSpan at no extra cost.
LifeSpan significantly increases the storage life of fresh produce when used correctly.
